Samuel Truesdell was born February 6, 1645 in Boston, Lincolnshire, England. In 1662, he emigrated from England to Mass Bay Colony, British Colonial America, along with his sister, Rebecca. Upon their arrival to the New World, they resided with Uncle Richard Truesdell, who was already established in Boston.
Samuel is the first Truesdell ancestor to arrive in British Colonial America.
Samuel married Mary Jackson in 1671. They resided in what is now known as Newton. At that time, it was part of Cambridge. Mary was the daughter of the first settler of Newton, John Jackson. Their marriage and move to Newton made Samuel officially the 26th settler of Newton, Massachusetts.
Samuel and Mary lived on a 120 acre farm. Today, the Newton Community Farm includes 2 acres of what was once Samuel and Mary’s farmland.
