February 3, 1908 – July 21, 2009
Clarissa Merrill Truesdell was the fourth child and second daughter to Charlotte and Arthur. Known as “Cricket” to family and friends, Cricket was the last child born in Wendell.
In 1936, she married Clayton Luther Packard in Greenfield, MA. They had one daughter. Clayton died at Franklin County Isolation Hospital after week’s long illness.
In 1938, Cricket married Clifford LaClaire. They had four children together.
Cricket is the author of the children’s book, Swamp House Mouse, which she wrote at age 90 to help her great-granddaughter learn to read. The book is illustrated by her great-grandchildren.
